And speaking of lead coming in, it rained ww lead yesterday. Close to 1800 pounds (13 buckets) from a new account that I gained in Oct! And there was at least 600 more pounds that were available, but I did not want to push the envelope with my vehicle. That batch will be picked up probably next month - we will hold to 10 - 12 buckets each visit. Now I have to sort through all of it - and then cast in degrees (as I go along with the sifting operation). Will cast when the weather warms up to the 30's. ~ K

Got a call this morning to fetch more ww's from another new account that I gained in October. I did a pickup in Oct, Nov, and will do so tomorrow. Was told 8 buckets!!! When it rains, it pours!!!!

I took some pictures tonight of the trays of lead that I fetched on Wed. and Fri. (1700+lbs and 888lbs, respectively). I also took some pictures of the strips of cardboard that I use to wrap my inner box of lead. Got lots of sorting ahead, then casting when weather permits (waiting for 30 or more degrees in temperature, in addition to a dry day).





The top 3 trays were from a bucket that had a lot of valve stems. But I take these to the scrap yard and fetch around 8 cents a pound. No waste in my sorting, except for sponge type of stickons that are used in a lot of foreign rims. All other metals are turned in to the scrap yard (i.e. zinc ww, steel ww, the steel clips, brass, copper, lug nuts, broken sockets, and the like). But some customers are very good to remove this stuff; and also, upon my pouring the buckets into my trays, the obvious stuff like breaker bars, is removed. On Friday, 22 pounds was taken out easily. But if some stuff slips by, this is OK - I am glad to fetch the ww's and at least can defray the cost of the ww's by turning the unwanted stuff in to the scrap yard.

And the big pieces of the cardboard were cut into strips shortly after the pictures were taken.















Shop / Garage areas at night. Can utilize right bay for the Benz when big snowstorms are predicted.
