    rolling block range report

Haven't shot the #5 Rem. Rolling Block lately, so I though I would take it and my bad eyes to the range.
    7x57...original sights
    135 gr cast / 16.1 gr 2400
    stick shooting
    5@25 yds and 5@50 yds
Amazing how hard it is to see those sights !!!

I have tang sights on my rbs to help my old eyes see. Makes a huge difference.

    Still not bad shooting.

with iron sights I can hit targets at 250 yards. With my 292 gr bullet and wimp powder load it takes about a second to get there. Love the delayed sound of the bullet hitting the steel

I've got a couple RB's in 8x58R, lots of fun to shoot. I have been meaning to get a set of collet dies made by Lee for these. I have full size dies which I use for forming, but forming the brass is quite involved and I don't want wear it out any sooner than I have to.

I use a Lee 8x57 collet die to size just the neck, I'm using 8x56 brass but it should work for proper brass too.

hey, watch where ya point that thing!
