I’m making a diy wooden press stand and was wondering if I cut a half circle for the
ram https://imgur.com/gallery/iEOS7Tl so it sets in center of upper deck would it give me some more steady base or mechanical advantage or just have it on the edge like the template says on the edge of a bench surface
I vote half circle. The more solid the base, the better.

I mounted my Six Pack Pro to a piece of 2" thick walnut. Then I bolted the piece of walnut to my loading bench with two 5/16-18 bolts and nuts. It is very sturdy.

Back in the day, I didn't have the luxury of a dedicated reloading bench. Everything was bolted to a 2x12 of appropriate length and c-clamped to the bench. UNTIL I got a progressive! Then, a dedicated bench for the progressive became mandatory to keep the priming operation: well, operational. Lee Load Master in fact. Once it was bolted to a solid bench I was able to adjust it so that it worked flawlessly. 500 rds. a week. All spring, summer and fall. Rifle loading came during the winter months to load for practice, league and matches. The load had been already established. So, it was only a matter of running through the stages. The reason for the 500 rounds a week was to: a) feed the Sunday afternoon habit with the son and daughter at the buddy's range and 2) I only had 500 cases :).
