Bullet diameter vs GC secure crimp.

I'm assembling some of the Lee .45 Caliber 300gr FNGC bullets for use in my lever guns. Both the bullets and the gas checks were given to me. The bullets are unsized and unlubed. I don't know what brand of Gas Checks they are, they look like Hornady though. I'm using an RCBS Lube-A-Matic sizer.

I want to size these bullets to .454" because both of my rifles prefer this diameter.
    My question is this:
Will sizing the bullet and gas check to .454" crimp the gas check on securely enough?

    Bullet shank Dia: .426"
    GC - OD..........: .461"
    GC - ID...........: .426"
    GC - wall.........: .020"
(All dimensions within .001" or .002", everything varies.)

So I'm compressing the gas check OD .009" in diameter. That will reduce the ID to .417" crimping it into the bullet base about the same amount.

I know, I know, I'm confusing the issue. That's why I'm asking for help.
The gas checks snapped onto the shank of each bullet, and when I tilted them to get them out of my sizer none came loose. So I'm probably worrying for nothing.

I think they will be ok. You can try to pry them off with your fingernails..if they remain attached, you have nothing to worry about IMHO.

Thanks guys. I thought I would be, but I just wanted to ask others who knew more than I do.
