Unhappy William Eric Emmert was laid to rest

The technical report was 1st Lt. William Eric Emmert Platoon Leader, 1st Platoon, 269 MP Company Tennessee Army National Guard was felled by enemy combatant attack 24Feb09.

The truth is that Eric is gone much too soon.

A quote I heard today from a sherrifs deputy from his home town

    Eric was a cops cop

    A soldiers Soldier

Eric was all that and most of all he was a

    a mans MAN.

That is a Man to stand for what is right.

So many good things he accomplished in the past, so many more good things he could have in the future.

Please remember Eric and his parents in your prayers and thoughts.

Please to pray for those in harms way every day, no matter where that may be.

Eric's parents asked us all to thank a Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Police Officer, Fireman, or EMT for serving to protect us all.
Yes I knew him and feel fortunate to have served with him when he was E-5 awaiting his commission.

    A salute.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

I don't know from the post but I hope you knew him. Those men are indelibly marked upon the memories of those who knew them and it is haunting. Now, after many years, I consider it an honor to have those memories of great people who left to early floating daily in my mind. God bless the family and the men who knew him.
