A few years ago-
I was in the local tire shop---- buying tires for mine, or the wife's car.
I asked one of the guys, "What do ya do with your 'pull off' wheel weights"?
He said, "Ohhh,, we give them to this dude that comes by once in a while".
I looked in the trash cans, and saw what brand of empty beer bottles were in them... paid my bill & left.
A week or so later, around 4:30 on a Friday....
I came back.... With a case of that brand of beer under my arm.
I asked the head illegal alien,,,,
"Can I trade you & your guys this--- for some old wheel weights"?
He got a real pained look on his face, then told me,
"No,, the dude we give them too came yesterday and took all of them.
I kept the case of beer under my arm and told him,
"Gosh,,,, I'm sorry to hear that. I'll check back with ya sometime"... and left.
3 weeks later,,,,,, late in the afternoon on a Friday,,,,,
I came back with the same case of beer under my arm,
and asked the same question.
And yeah,,, them guys heaved enough wheel weights into the back of my old 1/2 truck to squat it down on the springs.
Since then,
I stop by a few times a year with beer, or even a quart of 195 proof Moonshine at Christmas.
They give me enough wheel weights to 'squat' my new F-250 Superduty, plus:
When I actually need tires- I'm in & out-- like a pitstop at the Indy 500.
On my last visit- I got a pair of new 15" radials to fit the front of the van for $100..... and I was out of there in 15 minutes.
