    219 Donaldson Wasp

Looking to form some Wasp cases from 30-30 and can use some advice. Do I need a form die set with reamer? Will this setup do both the standard and short versions? Best place to purchase the required components? Thanks, Dan

I've used a Redding Deluxe die set for about 30 years.
Graf and Sons and E Arthur Brown Company (EABCO) sells both short and standard versions of the dies as well as the form die. You will need to ream or turn the necks.
Anneal the cases first, being sure to not overheat the head of course.
I lube with Imperial Die Wax, run through the form die and cut with a small hacksaw.
    Ream or turn the neck.
Run in the full length sizer die the first time. You can elect to get a "Deluxe" 3 die set that has a neck sizing die for after you fireform the cases in the first firing.
Trim to final length and load.
    Hodgdon still has data online.

I left out case prep. All the flash hole deburring etc. Just do as you would do.

25-35 brass is a much easier form base if you can locate them

EABCO still has some dies in stock. They used to sell formed brass for it too. You can also try to ind some 219 Zipper brass and fireform.
Old enough to know better, young enough to do it anyway!

I've got case forming dies for 219 Zipper. Other than trimming to length, what steps are necessary to form into Wasp cases?

Donaldson started with the 219 Zipper case.
Full length size in the Wasp die. Trim, and fireform.

Not really any point in making 219 Zipper from 30-30 etc., then running it into 219 Wasp dies. You need the Wasp dies so the Zipper step is just extra work for no gain.

Made from virgin Hornady 30-30 brass using the Redding deluxe die set:
