    Best bunny bait?

Gotta live trap some rabbits and would like to know which bait works best for you?

Look at the natural foods they have in your area. Then,, see if you can get something that is very desirable that's close to what they enjoy.
Fresh broccoli sprouts is good,, but beware,, groundhogs like them too. I've used apples as a good bait too. I've also taken a piece of carrot,, and peeled thin slices to add to the apple smell.

This sounds silly but We always had good results using marshmallows. The bigger ones work better but rain will disolve them over time. They will also attrack woodchucks and other animals.

    Dry Purina Rabbit Chow .
Carries easily in a zip-lock and doesn't spoil ... rabbits seem to like it along with the "Trash Panda's" .

My Dad's garden. But you will have difficulty fitting it in your live trap...

Failing that, I will second the marshmallow trick, and the Purina Rabbit Chow.

The sliced apple trick is effective however, do not be surprised if you find a deer
with his head stuck in the trap! (There is a story behind that!)
Rights, and Privileges, are not synonymous. We have the Right to Bear Arms. As soon as the Government mandates firearm registration, and permiting, then that Right becomes a Privilege, and may be taken away at our Master's discretion.

The advantage of peanut butter is you spread it on the trigger of the trap. That way they can smell it but the only way they can get it is to lick it off which trips the door. I trapped quite a few woodchucks this way in northern Indiana when I couldn't shoot them fast enough.

    good luck

    Some happy dogs.
These men and their hypnotized followers call this a new order. It is not new. It is not order.
