There was a show on one of the streaming services called " Bomb Girls" who were loading artillery shells with hand fulls of Cordite.

We watched the series from 1st to last episode. Remember them loading explosive casings with Melted Explosives from a pot and a hose set up; did not remember the cordite in the shell casings.

Pouring melted explosive was a dangerous occupation, because the TNT was quite poisonous,as were the fumes......the women would get yellow skin .

And they were called canaries, because of their yellow skin. IIRC, it reputedly also made many/most/all of them infertile.

There is film of Viet cong workshops melting the explosive out of dud 500 pound bombs to make land mines. They cut through the casing with hacksaws first.

TNT is not shock sensitive. A safe explosive.
    Whatever!

Digging up dud bombs from the 70s,and melting out the filling is family occupation in SE Asia, the explosive is sold to illegal miners .....you see houses there with bomb cases as piers ,and the curved parts of bomb casings made into all kinds of metal utensils.
