anyone know where I can find load data for this powder?
Anyone use this powder in the 358 Winchester?
I have some small primer pocket brass I want to try it out in..
Thanks

Hodgdon has reloading data, but not for the .358. It’s right next to BL(c) 2 on the burn rate charts, but I don’t know if you want to be interpolating data or not. It’s usually a bad idea.

So far what I have done is 40-45 gr of cfe-223
brass is Lapua Palma small primer 308 Win. brass converted to 358 Win.
plans are to go as far as I can without excessive pressure
but I will let the rifle tell me for sure where to stop
I am going by what others have done and similar powder burn rates

Might be worth a call to Hodgdon.
I would use Gordons Reloading Tools or Quickloads then use safety and personal experience to devleop my own load.
Dont matter how many new loads i develope, that first shot with an unknown powder always starts with a prior prayer and then review of my life to see if i am proud of it, then ponder my personal attachment to my gun.
After the first shot i always relax and have fun. My favorite thing is powder expermentation. Almost got a splinter in my sphincter once.
Alway becarefull of sharing loads. Liabilities. Whats safe for me might might not be safe for you. Thats why most of us dont share loads unless its published and some even then wont share.
I can tell from Quickloads graphs, that if you jam a bullet into the lands with my 4198 charged in 270 Win you will double your pressure. Goes grom being mild pressure to high chamber just because of .004 seating depth.

Called Hodgdon yesterday
they told me that there is no load data for that powder cartridge combo, well duh
anyway the tech I talked to said cfe-223 is a slow burning propellant and I probably couldn't get enough powder in the case to make it worthwhile and that ball powder doesn't like to be compressed
so I abandoned that endeavor

I think that CFE223 might be a good fit!
Looking at data for the .308MarlinExpress, CFE223 yields slightly higher velocities thane even the highly touted LVR. HOWEVER, the lot # of CFE223 I have failed to beat LVR, but came close to the predicted performance.
TAC is supposed to be the fastest powder for the .358, but I haven’t tried it yet. Bought the powder but don’t want to waste the bullets... they’re up to $0.50 a piece if not more!
Report back! My favorite.358 powder is same as KenWaters....H4895!
I suspect the online load data for 358 win and 356 win has not been updated in quite some time by the techs that put together the Hodgdon/imr RDC. I say this because ive found that most everything that the 4895's work well in 8208 also works well. but there is no online data for these cartridges using 8208. there is data for the older blc2 and many who know a lot more than I do say that blc2 and cfe223 are very very similar. one being older and the other modern with flash suppressor and copper cleaner added. so it could be that the techs just have not even yet tried these newer powders in 358 win and other calibers that are not real popular to a lot of shooters. does this make any sense or am I all wet behind the ears.
I have 2 .358 rifles, One of the powders I use is Blc2, which is similar to cfe223. I've also used ww748, aa2520, and TAC in .358. All are similar to CFE223. I have some CFE223, and i wouldn't be afraid to develop a load with it for my .358's if I needed to do so. CFE223 is my "go to" powder for jacketed bullets in .30/30. It's a good propellant.
