HT,
I think you made a typo. You meant kilograms, not pounds, right?
Nice shootin'!

Nice shooting!
I think he means 467 lbs by the time he recovered him. I understand that!
Michael
Awesome. Great memory making there and great dinner fare to. Congrats.
Nice deer...if there was any uphill dragging...he's every bit of 600lbs. Been there myself.

That deer weighed 467 lbs? That sounds like a Deer/Elk hybrid "Delk?"
I have never heard of a Whitetail Deer even remotely close to that. I was under the impression that a 250 lb Deer was a monster. I must have lived a sheltered life!
You need to do a full body mount of that one and set it up in your living room and charge admission to see it.
Wow,,, and nice job knocking that one down HT!

It was a flat 250 yd drag through a wooded bottom. No big deal for a stout 20 yr old but at 65 1/2 I've earned the right to exagerate a wee bit. He'd actually shrunk 310 lbs by the time I strung him up the grandkids swing.

It is a little know fact. One that my kids and grandkids refuse to believe no matter how many times I explain it to them. If you are over 60 the gravity in you local area becomes variable. As soon as you started dragging that deer the gravity around you went to heavy. Hey, 65 1/2 the gravity may have increased as much as 50%. Heck that is another 155 pounds. That made his weight, when you were dragging him at around 465 pounds. Your first estimate was spot on. When you got him close to the grandkids swings the gravity went back to youth normal and he weighed 310. It is just science...like global warming if I say it, it must be true.
Nice Buck, I see back strap in your future.

Great job HT!

I have a modified household handtruck set up with large lawnmower wheels just for such "drags." It seems to help with swingset shrinkage.
Oh, I've got a large wheel game cart....of course it was at home under the carport

Congrats Hal !! Funny how the laws of nature and physics change as we age..lol. D
Sounds like you need a bigger freezer HT. Must be a new species or hybrid whitetail elk mix. Yea, there is just a wee bit of difference between 30 and 60. At 30 you can put a deer over your shoulders and carry it a half mile to the cart on the trail. At 60 you start complaining when you get three fox squirrels in your game vest. lol A big Congrats on the viddles.
May you hands be warmed on a frosty day.
OK: 310 lbs is nothing to sneeze at. I understand the gravity part perfectly. 69 on the 15th of Nov.
When I was at Front Sight Last week in my shotgun class they were teaching us how to shoot in the Prone Position. Mind you the oldest instructor was 35, and the majority of the class was over 60.
So they would flop down on the ground using various methods, and then, hop right back up.
Then we all laughed and yelled "the problem is not getting down,,, It's getting back up!!!!!"
Anyway, I'll try to be at the BBQ if you'll give me some advance notice.
