    Win vs. Rem 25-35 brass

My Win 55 in 25-35 has trouble ejecting Win. brass but is fine with Rem. brass. Seems the Win. rim is to thin and the extractor doesn't hold it firmly enough for the ejector to kick it out of the rifle half the time. The rem. cases have a thicker rim and they eject 100%. Unfortunately most of my brass is Win. Anyone else have this problem?

Your 55 is 80 or so years old, maybe a new extractor is what's needed. Just a guess.

I guess it could just be the extractor. May get a new one down the road but hate to mess with it. Will use Rem brass for hunting. The rifle is 92 years old made in 1926.

Before taking to a GunSmith so to change out its extractor. Perhaps a through receiver cleaning is over due.
I have a 1894 Win model that had issues at its purchasing. I dissembled its receiver with a close examination of individual parts. A good hearty cleaning cured all those issues.

My 25-35 will function all manufactures brass and includes those brass I hand swagged from 30-Wcf.
