Guys, my two sons 8 & 10 use a Marlin '94 in .357 to hunt with. So far they have killed many hogs and two nice Mule Deer with it. Range is somewhat limited but they shoot the rifle well due to it's size (11" cutdown stock) and lack of recoil.
We have been using the Federal 180gr. castcore bullets but recently they have become very hard to find and very expensive. I am looking for a load to duplicate them. The rifle will shoot 2" at 50 yards all day and about 5" at 100 which is really their maximum range anyway.
I have the following moulds- Lyman Keith 173, plain base of course and the Rcbs 200.
Any suggestions? I know the Marlins can be a problem with cast and in the past in working up loads for my .35 Rems etc....it has been a struggle to get a good load. Any help appreciated.
