    Packing peanuts and PC

At work this afternoon unpacking a box with packing peanuts in it. The dang things where sticking to everything. So that got me to thinking. Why not drop some peanuts in your PC container before each time you use it. Shack the container with just the peanuts in it to build up more static buildup.

    What does everyone think?

Those things do have a lot of static electricity! I don't know how they'd work but it's worth a try. Let us know. Seriously I'd like to find out, you've got me curious.

I concur, give it a try, I really like the theory behind it.

That was one of the first things I tried when I started to PC. My result was powder sticking to the peanuts and very little to the lead. This was with Harbor Freight powder. YMMV

Edit: You are saying to shake the peanuts, remove them and then do the PC? What I tried was shaking with them in the container with the boolits.

Scotner, that is correct. Use the peanuts in the empty container than add everything after that.

Using low heat is so much easier then trying to generate high voltage charges...

One problem I can see is the peanuts will start to break apart. Then they will sucks up a massive amount of powder.

Peanuts go first, take peanuts out, then put in powder. You guys are missing the details of the plan here.

    Reading comprehension is key.

So, do you think I should leave the peanuts in the shells or crack 'em open? Honey roasted or salted work better? Can't wait to try it!

maybe some sort of double container - peanuts in the outer, with a coolwhip container inside?

But heck, is it gonna really improve coverage over BBB's in a CW?

What bkbville said. I'd try leaving the peanuts in the box and putting the container holding the bullets in the box with them and shake the whole works. Static goes through things that conduct. Peanuts, cardboard, plastic tubs and PVC pipe all conduct. You might just create lightning!

I need to order PC from Smoke. Cast a few and try this. I know the white peanuts will has more static to them then the green. I lIke the peanuts in a box idea. I think just setting the PC container in the peanuts and spin the PC container a few turns would work. Pull PC container Shack it a few times and see what happens.

I've used packing peanuts and they work well, the problem is they break down into little pieces. They melt away and don't cause a problem but I don't like the bits. I use bb's and more sturdy Styrofoam.

Green means they are made from 70% or more recycled material and, before anyone tries it, pink means they are coated with an anti static coating so good luck with that one.

I'm curious how the honey roasted or salted ones will taste with a dash of powder coat. Genius

Thats because they are not Styrofoam, the peanuts are made out of biodegradable corn starch
