    New interview with Chris Hodgdon

I don't how many of you guys have seen this interview posted 12/19 on the Power Factor Show.

Lots of good info including a discussion of the new pistol/shotgun powders (Unequal).

I don't usually watch things like this, but I did this one. Interesting interview, although loaded with softball questions. Some quite funny -

"Would you say, Chris, that Unequal is a 'unique' powder ?"

"Why, yes I would. It is a unique powder."

Thanks for the video. Wonder when they will come out with 2401 since brand X is so hard to find.

It's that time of year, i love it that the Power Factor show guys made a tradition of talking to Chris Hodgdon, no better way to get the info but straight from the horses mouth!

Wished the other powder companies would do the same.

So now Hodgens is copying Alliant dot powders? A close enough copy that you don't have to change bushings?

Be alright once the data comes out and I can take a walk through it.

I don't suspect they'll be sold out right away, might be a good time to stock up.

So now, if they could only make an equal replacement for SR 4759.

Interesting. It's nice to see more powders, I guess. Load data is already confusing and these will probably help contribute to that. I can just see the posts - "I heard you can see the same data for red and for red dot", "Yeah for shotgun, but not pistol...".

Unique, Universal, Unequal, all sit in a huge pile of different powders that can almost be used interchangeably.

People always say there powder is better than XXX. But I want to know why. I'm guessing the answer is because it's cheaper to make and a better profit margin

I have a very hard time believing that Hodgdon will price the Alliant similar products competitively. They have never really bothered to do so before this.

For me, it hasn't mattered much how Alliant product prices compared to Hodgdon. Alliant products have been very difficult to find, while Hodgdon powder has been relatively easy to find.

If Alliant products are $2/lb cheaper, but are unavailable, then the price difference doesn't exist.

Funny I got back into the gun game smack in the middle of the big powder shortage. I had no real problem finding powder. Finding the powder I wanted was a little bit tougher. Mostly a matter of the 3 P's.

It all looks good to me. If one isn't available then you have a direct substitute from someone else using the same data if I understand Chris correctly with names close enough that you won't make a mistake. Nothing wrong with this.

Bookworm, under Trump the powder supply panic buying problem will ease. Then we will see how the typically overpriced Hodgdon line will fare.

Should have asked why they discontinue IMR 7625! The best 38 super powder I have ever used. Thankfully I have 12 lbs. when I heard it was being discontinued.

Hodgon powder is cheaper than the others. So are the others over priced as well?
