    45acp PC sizing question

On my very first powdercoat, I resized them back to .452 and saw some sort of plastic smear down the barrel. It scrubbed out but not what I was expecting.

I double coated my next batch and they mic at .457. I don't want a repeat of the first ones, will these be ok to load as-is?

I'd size them to .452" again. I don't think your PC was cured fully. Check to be sure your oven temperature is at 400*F and you cook them at least 10 minutes after the powder has melted. You might need a cheap oven thermometer to check your oven temp.

Agree on the cure issue if it is plastic smear. .457 is pretty big if the barrel slug s .451-.452. I size .452 on all 3 45's I load for and haven't seen any plastic residue in several thousand rounds. In fact I don't even clean more than every few hundred.

Thicker is DEFINITELY NOT better! OMG.....457 is waaaay too big. I am surprised you could even seat them in the cases and they would chamber!!!!!

I single coat all my 45 ACP slugs and size to 451 with excellent NO leading or PC resicue at all.

Your cure time and temp must be off. Check oven for 400F with a good oven thermometer. And bake for 10 min after the powder turns shiny. No more is needed.
