    forming 30-40 krag brass

    anyone ever form krag brass from 405 brass and if so are there any issues or difficulities? yes, I know that it can be formed from 303 british. but, I don,t wanna.

    You cannot form "full length" .30-40 Brass from .303 brass. It will be short.

    I have formed .303 cases from .405 Win. You wind up with a heavier case. My cases were too thick in the neck to chamber so I neck turned them.

    The .405 rim is thicker than the .303 and Krag rims so you may have about half of the rims that would need to be thinned from the front face before they will chamber.

    When you form the .405 it needs to be taken down in several steps or you will get lube dents in the should very easily.
