Anybody tried this in a Swiss Vetterli?

A custom Lee HB boolit for the 10.4x38R cartridge?

At the bottom of the page
    http://www.oldyoti.com/moulds.htm

I have just bought a Vetterli and another one is on its way.
Now i have to feed the beasts, and proper boolit moulds are either expensive or nonexistent. So for $65 + shipping this sounds almost to good to be true.

No. I shoot a Lee 310 RF in mine and it works well. I have one of the Lee hollow base custom molds I purchased several years ago, but have not tried those boolits in my Vetterli yet...........Mike

Yes I have. Results were no better or worse than a heavy .44 magnum mold.

...............Chicken Thief, have you actually tried to contact him? I don't know for sure but I really don't believe he's still in business. I could sure be wrong so don't let me keep you from trying to get ahold of him. You can also check up on it at the British & Militaria forums at: http://britishmilitariaforums.yuku.com/

I'm sure that is what smokemjoe meant. He sadly has passed away and cannot answer.

Chicken Thief - determine the groove diameter on your Vetterli. Why - they came in various groove diameters depending on the model and period of manufacturer
I may be able to help you with either cast custom 11.4x38R bullets or the custom mold for the proper groove diameter.
If I can help you out, what are the customs regulations shipping bullets or molds?

Groove diameter is critical in this situation and a heeled boolit may be needed. i have been able to slug a couple of Vetterlis and the Groove diameter ranged from .429 to .439. the one with the .439 groove is in my personal collection and i will someday acquire a proper heeled mould for it.

My Vetterli always turns heads at the range.
