First time poster long time lurker

I am new to posting to the forum but have been lurking for awhile. In doing research on swaging I came across this series of books on .30 and .50 cal ammunition production during WW2. It has some information on adjusting and setting up dies for production that some may get ideas out of. It looks like the books came from Google but I cannot find the downloads on the site.

Training manual for adjusters of production machines for small arms ammunition.

Welcome rickv, much of the stuff we discuss here has been done before, great to find links to the past maybe we can do better with our more uniform thickness metals, and more precise, repeatable machines.

Yes, it is interesting to see they took 10 steps to make .30 ball bullets in 1941. They would shape the jacket first using punches and dies to the profile and then drop in the lead ball. After forming the base it went through 2 different resizing operations.

I think most of the commercial manufactures were/are still using this machinery for production.

    Rick
