    Best powder gun?

Group, I know this has most likely been covered, but I can only find snippets in various posts. I've been DTBB to do most of my PC, but I'm considering getting into ESPC. There appears to be three economical guns out there. Craftsman, harbor freight, and eastwood. i understand the craftsman doesn't need a compressor, but is subject to part failure. The eastwood and HF guns appear to be pretty similar in that they both have controllable ionization voltage.

I'm sure there are quirks to using all three, can you advise what they are?

    Thanks in advance

controllable ionization voltage Voltage is NOT adjustable on the HF gun.

I have the HF gun and it's all I've used. I found it quite easy to figure out and produced excellent results.

Not really sure what a better ESPC gun would do better. Maybe clean up easier, maybe something else.

Most guns where the voltage is adjustable cost a lot more than the Harbor Freight Gun.

I found an adjustable voltage gun that needed to be repaired.
It cost more to repair the gun than the cost of the Harbor Freight Gun.

The adjustable voltage is nice but a few friends have the Harbor Freight Gun and their results are as good as the results I get with an adjustable voltage gun.

The cast bullets are easy to coat, an gun should work.

HF works great......for the very little it costs! NOT ADJUSTABLE!!!!!! If it dies, I will just buy another one.....right down the street from the store.

The Amazon (craftsman-ish) gun I have also works well but tends to use more powder than the HF, if you are trying to do this on the cheeeeeep. I do not worry about powder costs.

Never used the Eastwood but have heard good things.

The HF gun does a wonderful job. It is cheap and makes perfect boolits, but I'm in agreement with MacFan (above)...... one day I'm going for the Caswell gun. I do recommend the HF gun first though. Find out if you are going to be a dedicated coater and if you don't mind the hoses and wires associated with using an air powered gun before you commit more to the project than you have to.
    KE4GWE - - - - - - Colt 1860, it just feels right.

The Eastwood gun is one of the best hobby level guns. The craftsman should only really be an option if you really don't want to use an air compressor. It holds an incredibly small amount of powder and the longevity/quality is not that great.
