    9mm reamer

    Howdy
Anyone used a 9mm reamer for a 38/357 swage die? Will a shop bought machine or hand reamer cut less than .358"?

a letter T reamer is .358 and is a common size
    9mm is a bit small for .357

You are going to want to cut undersize and polish the interior to a mirror finish ( and final diameter ). Otherwise you will have hard extraction from your cavity.

Also something to keep in mind, in my experience, I assume all drill bits drill an oversize hole. I would recommend drilling the hole several thousanths under size, ream it a little larger, and then lap to final dimension. Drill a test hole in some scrap with your chosen bit and measure it. Pin gauges work fine for that.

For a while before buying a Ch4d set I was thinking a "T" sized reamer would work, my thinking was drill the hole first with a 5/16 bit then go to a 11/32 bit and then finally ream with a "T" size reamer. I never did it but if I were to try it today thats the way I would go. Make a lapping bit and polish as needed. I May still make a 38/357 swage die set as I'm not 100% happy with the ogive Ch4d went with on theirs. too much like a auto bullet with too much taper. Go ahead and try it, if it doesn't work you've learned something and can share that info with others.
