Anyone know of a sight base for a Browning 1886 that will accept a Browning BPCR sight?
I know this is a long shot, but figured I'd ask.

Check with Montana Vintage arms or Buffalo arms. They should be able to tell you. Hole size in the staff and thickness will be the most important. have them handy when you call
Thanks - I'll call Montana Vintage Arms.

The 1886 Browning is not drilled/tapped for a tang sight..at least my Jap-built, centennial high-grade is not. But it sure shoots nice!!! I had mine fitted with a ladder rear and blade from C Sharps
MVA's bases won't work with the Browning sight staff. Those Browning sights were made for them by an outfit in Utah, and they have quit making them. Best bet would be to contact Browning and ask about a base for the 86.
Long range rules, the rest drool.
Thanks Don,
I've got a Browning BPCR coming, and thought I might be able to use those sights on the 1886, and then put MVA sights on the BPCR.
Think I'll just order a #102 Mid range Soule and a #113 sight for the 1886 and leave the BPCR as it is.

P.S. Freedom475 my Browning currently has a Marbles tang sight on it. Somewhere along the line someone had it d/t'ed for me.
Jim
That's probably a good idea.
Altho you might wait until you have the gun in hand to make sure the spacing on the Marbles sight.
Long range rules, the rest drool.
