I would like to drill my Accurate 460350V / 360J for the NOE temperature probe. Per my photo you can see that the NOE is drilled at bottom-rear but on the Accurate the alignment pin is in that area. Options I see are to drill just like the NOE only into the top rail rather than the bottom, still at the rear of the mold, or drill on the bottom with the probe wire coming out the front of the mold. How does the position effect temperature reading?

Has anyone else done this? I'm not a machinist and only have a drill press. I think with the use of alignment jigs I can drill the probe hole and also drill-tap the set screw. Or maybe I'll have someone more experienced do it for me.
Any suggestions about either the probe location or someone who will do this for me?
