    Lewis ingot

I have a few of these ingots-
    They are 5 1/2" long, 2 1/2" wide, and 1 1/2" high.
They have LEWIS in raised lettering on top.
Also, they seem very soft, as they have large "dents" in places, probably from dropping?
It's nice to have found this forum.

Sounds like those could be plumber's lead........5Bhn or so. Get some lino or hardball and Sn to sweeten them to what you need to cast. Get the FREE alloy calc spreadsheet on here to let you do mix calcs on the computer B4 you melt!

    Welcome to the madness.

Read the sticky on pencil testing for hardness. Most lead ingots will get dented over time. Pencil test will narrow down the actual hardness as being plain soft lead or having some alloy making it a bit harder.
