    LeverEvolution in 358 Win

I contacted Hodgdon regarding LeverEvolution in the 358 win. I received this response:

"It looks like LeveRevolution may be too slow for this cartridge. But in any case we have not updated it since Varget was introduced due to lack of interest in the 358 Win. I doubt we will ever develop any more data for it. Sorry."

Since I couldn't find any data for the 358 win I did some cross referencing of other similar cartridges (338 federal) and used the burn rate chart

    http://www.hodgdon.com/burn-rate.html

To come up with a starting point of 38 grains. The 38 grain was a little mild and didn't fully seal one round. 41 grains (bottom right group) was my top load for this trip and really started to become accurate.

Next time out i will take some higher charges to see if I keep getting better accuracy.

there is some good learning experiences on this target.
look at the different numbers [grs used] one shows velocity variations from incomplete powder burn, one shows ignition inconsistency's, one shows things starting to come together from proper case filling with a slow powder.
a filler would have helped the first load calm down.

i'd move along in 1/2 gr steps at this point....

You left out the 44 mag hole! J/k.

I agree with 1/2 grain increases. I'm excited to get some more loaded and see how they fly.

Here is a picture of some loaded rounds. I have two batches LC12 brass and PPU 308 brass. Loads from 41.0-42.5 grains in 1/2 grains increments. I usually get to shoot on Thursdays now that my wife is done bowling league.

I plan to make this my future elk load.

What bullet is that? What velocity are you getting. Thanks for sharing.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further brotherhood of a man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

NOE copy of the lyman 358318 with a cup HP. Around 2000fps with 41 grains of LVR.
