New member here. I only have one mold. had it since 1976. It's a little sloppy but still gets the job done Bought this 4 cavity saeco mold with handles and guess I've cast 20,000 or so during the years. Its a.41 mag, 220 gr, have both a smith and ruger and bought new about 1976 neither gun has ever seen a factory round. I say its not just how many molds one has but how you use the ones you do have. Luck to all 50chevy5window

NOT ENOUGH!! Takes a half hour to find the one I'm looking for in the pile. Really should box them back up like I do my Lyman and NOE. But still not enough. One of of these days I'm gonna be anal too!

I currently have something like 5 storage totes full of molds and handles.

I have so many that I've actually slowed sown the acquisition stage for a while. That happens after you buy a mold, and then discover you already have 2 or 3 of the same design.

I been promising myself that I was going to get all of mine out and make a chart so I'd stop doing that!!!

The sad thing is, I did make up a spreadsheet to track my molds, but when I impulse buy at auctions or gunshows, I often forget that I already have one. Case in point, I recently grabbed a mold off of Ebay, remembering how much I had liked the sample bullets someone had sent me a few years ago. When it arrived, I went to add it to the spreadsheet, and discovered I already had a 2 cavity, and a 4 cavity, of the mold I had just bought a 1 cavity of. I hadn't cast with either of the others, so I didn't remember having them... talk about embarrassing.

i've medicated my addiction by buying ideal/lyman molds/designs and keep a printout of the pictoral mold history then once the mold arives i highlight the proper picture and write in the proper top punch number and the number of cavities. my big problem now is i do have a few lee six-bangers for my auto pistols and a few rcbs a couple saeco's totaling in the neighborhood of 35 molds covering almost all bore diameters or at least the most comon 22, 24, 25, 27, 30, 31, 9mm, 38, 40, 44, 45, and 50

Powder to the East, primers to the West, lead to the North, molds to the South and all the gun safes in the middle. It's a constant battle to keep it all balanced out to keep the house level...

well I don't feel so bad now I only have 12 or 13 myself

I don't want to point fingers but I think some of you need to save space and should pass some of the "extra" molds around

I only have two. I'm looking to get a half dozen more, eventually. For the three calibers I have.

When I first voted I was in the 11-25 range and have went to the next group. At the rate I keep adding molds I will likely step up to the next count each year or so. I am starting to feel like this is an addiction more than a hobby so will refrain from keeping count any longer LOL. It is nice to have a selection of bullets to use for any given caliber and I have found that if I buy the mold and dies and start collecting the brass I seem to find something to shoot them with!
