    Kydex

Where do you buy Kydex for your projects?

Ebay? I see a bunch there in any color you want for cheap. I have been thinking of doing some "special" kydex projects myself.

Ebay or Tandy--I have a Tandy store close by, which helps when I'm in a hurry.
I recently made two holsters for a S&W 99, one Kydex, one Leather. The Leather took 5 times as long to complete. (but looks better.)

I have wondered if Kydex will wear a firearms finish faster than leather.

I am inclined to think that the wear factor is a "six-of-one-half-a-dozen-the-other" thing. I have done a lot of work with leather and holsters, but only recently have I tried kydex. It seems to me that there is more drag from leather, but the Kydex is harder, so more pressure might result at the pinch points. I can state unequivocally that kydex is much faster to work with. A jig saw, a drill, an oven and a few chicago screws and you are in business.

I bought some Kydex from knifekits.com. Made a holster for my TRP with Streamlight M3:
