picked up some bullseye unique & trailboss

Fin, feather & fur opened up a new store awhile back in youngstown & I finely made it there. They had an 8# limit on powder & no limit on primers. Didn't pick-up too many primers, well stocked already. This is what I bought on tuesday:

Was back working in y-town yesterday so I stopped into the fin & picked up more powder & a couple more 1,000 primers.

Next time I'm there I'll pick-up 8# of rifle powder & some more primers. The fin has always been an excellent place to buy powder & primers. They always seem to have powder & primers during this last shortage, in the last 2 years I've bought allot of powder & primers from them:

longshot/2#
mp-300/2#'s
power pistol/6#'s
small pistol primers/5,000
large pistol primers/8,000
large rifle primers/2,000

Next on the list is 8# of imr4895

You did good.I done that stock up mainly before the any of this happened and just pick off and on things as i see them.Now you are set for some time.When the things been bad for every one else i was good for what I have.

The Fin's original store in Ashland is fairly close to me, and has always had the best selection of reloading supplies anywhere around here. The prices usually were pretty good too.

I am so stinkin jealous, been waiting for Bullseye and Trailboss forever. I was looking on GB last night and some yahoo was advertising Bullseye over $50/lb!

Meanwhile, I'm down to just a few ounces of Unique and my last pound of 2400. My LGS (SE Texas) hasn't seen ANY Unique or 2400 since the Sandy Hook school shooting.

Thanks to BrotherDarrel and others, I'm experimenting with Alliant STEEL now in .308, .45 Colt and .44 Mag. STEEL seems to be fairly plentiful down here and, so far, my experimenting has been successful.

The only downside is it doesn't meter well at all, I'm having to drip the last grain or so. Tt.

I guess it could be called hording but I do actually go thru a little bit of powder (around #16) every year along with #300 to #450 of lead. Depending on how much I shoot the calibers that use the heavy boolits/powder charges.

An average years shooting is 3000+ 38spl's, 3000+ 357's, 2000+ 44spl's, 1000+ 44mags, 5000+ 45acp's, 1000+ 9mm & 1000+ 308's. That ends up using:
7000 sp primers
8000 lp primers
1000 lr primers
4# of powder for the 38spl's & 9mm's
3# of powder for the 357's
2# of powder for the 44spl's
2# of powder for the 44mag's
3# of powder for the 45acp's
2# of powder for the 308's
Or 16,000+ primers and #16+ of powder a year. As you can see I bought allot of the faster burning powders (bullseye/trailboss) this year compared to last years powder (2400/longshot/power pistol). I won't get the same performance out of the fast powders in the mags or p+ loads but most of my shooting is at nothing more the paper, bowling pins or steel.

I was going to type out about how you should not shoot so much so everyone could get their FAIR SHARE of powder and primers to lessen the COMPONENT INEQUALITY problem we have in this country.
