I received my MP 611-640 on Friday. Had a chance to break it in by heat cycling in the oven to 400*F x 4. I then lubed up the pins, sprue plate and alignment studs. I even lightly coated the pin at the advice of some members here. As soon as the mold was up to temp it was raining boolits. All of them keepers.

Nominal weight was right at 175gr sized and lubed with Randy's Tac1. I sized them to .411" The unsized diameter was right at .41225" per my micrometer.

Gonna load some up tonight and hopefully test them out tomorrow.

41 Mag fans rejoice. I think I'm gonna like this mold.

Those boolits look pretty good. How do they shoot? Where does one obtain such a rig?

I loaded them over 8gr W231 this weekend for informal plinking. I brought along my chronograph, but, the battery was dead. If I had to guess, they were probably trucking around 950-1050 fps. It was a nice plinking load for sure and seemed to be accurate enough for consistent hits on cans at 15-30 yards. I plan on reducing the charge to 7-7.5gr and see how they do.

The actual mold was a recent group buy from MiHa who is the owner of MP Molds in Slovenia. Awesome Brass pieces of art, that also cast some fine boolits. The particular one pictured is using his large HP pins and weighted in at 175gr sized and lubed. You can aways PM MiHa or look under the active group buy page to see what he has going on. Be forewarned, most mold buys take months (often times 1+ yrs) to complete. Worth the wait.

Did I miss that group buy? The one I was part of recently was a 215gr in 2-2-96 alloy that is the 640 series for 41 cal.

    The 411-640 was a 175ish grain 2 or 4 cavity

    Perhaps the 412-640 group buy?

Okay I looked at mine from the 412-640 group buy and it is marked 413-640 which was from the latest run.

I was unable to find the group buy that was 411-640 with the lighter weight version and went through the list of MP molds Miha had on hand for this year and didn't see it I would have liked to have a light weight version as well as I seem to be addicted to those brass works of art.
