    Help with measurement please

Do any of you guys have a lyman bullet #575213OS 460 grn old style minie, mold #2654213 that you could measure for me? I'm a shotgun guy trying to fit the right 58 cal minie in a sabot. Lyman didn't respond to my request. Is the bullet truly .575 or oversize like the lee mold I own? THANKS for your help....

Mine drop at about .578". I have to run them through a sizer to make them .576" to fit the bore of my Parker Hale. This is out of stick on wheelweights. They would be likely a touch smaller if from pure lead.

Just askin! Couldn't a large ball for a Brown Bess type work with a patch? Muzzleloader shotgun or cartridge yer workin with?

thanks guys, realize ya'll are talking to an old shotgunner, and Parker - Hale sounds like the name of a comet to me! But yea, these sabots won't take over a .575 without bulging my shotgun hulls and the overall length, not just diameter is a factor too. Can you measure the length of the minie for me??? Thank you! if they cast up oversize size them where you want them , you can make a push through sized any size you want , round balls can be sized also makes them kind of egg shaped but they can still work or you can go smaller and paper patch up to just what your sabot needs

Are you going to shoot these through a rifled bore? In a smoothbore I think you will be very unhappy with their performance.
