    2 nice loads, same set-up

Just came in from a nice loading session - easy and efficient and very deadly loads.
    AA hulls
    Win 209 primer
20.1 grn CLAYS dropped from Lee Load all for both loads below:

    Load 1): AA12L grey wad
1 -16 ga. nitro card in wad
    Lee 7/8 key drive slug
8 pt crimp. (Crimped on Mec)
~ 1325 fps, very good from smoothbore or rifled @ 100 yds

    Load 2): AA12 white wads
3 stacks of 3 - .311 (Lee mold) buckshot (perfect fit)
    BPI buffer
    OS card
    8 pt. crimp

~ 1400 fps, very good pattern @ 40 yds from full choke

Loaded, boxed and labeled 25 of each in about an hour, seemed like 15 minutes! Such fun when things go well...

Nice looking loads, Hogtamer! Is that new Clays, or an old stash? Haven't seen that around in a while, but I've put together similar loads with Alliant e3 (19 gn)---seems like it takes a dense powder to fit all this into a AA hull.

I do gotta get me a Lee 7/8 oz. slug mould. Still haven't got to that but I have been busy in other areas.

The Lee slugs bear a resemblance to the Nessler balls and the 7/8 oz. the most. I was planning on making a mould to produce some Nessler ball repros just to try them but haven't got there yet and the Lees are so close I have to wonder if there is any benefit or whether the Lee is just as good. you are certainly having good results with your Lee slugs.
