I've had one since they first came out. It works pretty well, but the fellow at the time who was selling them did a little creative advertiseing and Mr. Shaver was absolutely no help at all in straightening it out, or fixing his product.

I have a Shaver for my Pedersoli Sharps, and it is a hoot to shoot. I also made my own reduced size silhouettes. It makes for good off-hand practice.

    .22 adapter

I have one made and sold by Dave Crossno. Easy to use, and super accurate.

I purchased one from Crossno for my Sharps. I havnt been able to try it yet.
Will I need to remove my tang sight to install it or is there some flex to it?

I didnt have to remove my sight, but I wouldnt want to "flex" it to much, you will be able to tell when you first try to install it.

About the only P I T A with these is setting the head space " at least it is on the shaver"

I've had a Crossno for about a year and a half. I'm really pleased with it. My gun is a Browning 1885 BPCR, and I don't have to remove the tang sight to install the adapter. Other shooters I know generally prefer the Crossno to the Shaver.

If ya'll look carefully at your Crossno set ups ( the one I've used was tack drivin' good)........you'll see that he did something fairly bold........and if it works, why question it?

What he's done there is what allows his set-up to funtion without that "Shell Holder" PITA thing, on the other.

Hint, .....look down the Crossno liner bore.

I'll have to see what YOU think is up with this, ( chuckle)

    .22 Adapter

    Crossfireoops,

For that reason I use a pull-through cleaning cable and a short brush.

I have a crosno that I use for back yard practice for long range shoots. One thing that I found was that I do not have to change my sights when I install it. For some reason out to 200 yards they shoot to the same sight settings as for my 45-70 rounds. And it is a real tack driver.

I see this is an old sunbject... But would anyone know if this adapter would work in a Springfield trapdoor?

This is interesting, I never had any luck with a 22 adapter in my AR-15, but it would good for my 45-70 Lever gun.
