T/C Contender with 12" .357Max barrel, followed by a Handi also in .357Max. Lots of load options.

The .38 spl. is one of my favorites. I love shooting my S&W model 14-4 w/8.375" bl. or my S&W model 10-7 w/4" bl. But by far the most fun would be my Rossi 92 in 38/357.

My Uberti replica of a S&W New Model #3 Top Break is chambered in 38 Special.
It is the most fun to shoot of all my 38's.

Another vote for the S&W Model 52 in a pistol. For a rifle a marlin 94 cowboy.

Anything that can handle a case full of 2400. I like to refer to 38/44 loads as what the .38 was meant to be! Although they aren't too bad for target shooting with a little BE either...

I will double that and raise you one. I don't have one but I sure wish I did. I shot one a long time ago that belonged to my older brother and it was one cool pistol to shoot, and it was very accurate.

    It's a toss up for me between my 1910 Colt 6" Army Special and my 1952 5" Smith M & P pre 10

How about an old sherriff's sawed off model 10 with the sight set back, rusted on the fleshy hip side from pants carry, and a pitted bore. Danged ugliest gun I own, is crazy accurate, never leads.
    It's just not right.

Another vote for the model 14. I can load it for my kids to plink, carry if I choose (6 inch bbl is a bit much for me unless open carry), compete (NRA Distinguished Revolver), teach and train. It reaches out to 50 yards with fine accuracy (less than 3 inch 10shot groups) and is pretty easy to clean and maintain (parts available although discontinued production). No one of these factors makes it an amazing firearm. But put together, these are all positive factors that make it a hoot to shoot.
