    Lee 358-158rf, 9mm and a suppressor

**I do not guarantee these loads are safe in any gun, even mine. Some are pretty hot and way off the map with no load data even close. Use at your own risk or preferably DON'T use these loads!**

So I've seen where people have had good luck shooting 158gr 9mm. So I thought I would try it.

I cast up some LEE 358-158RF from COWW + 2% tin and water dropped them to get 25bnh. Lubed with LBT Blue Soft and sized them .357". Loaded them with Lee dies (no factory crimp!) in 1x Winchester brass using Wolf SP primers and the following powders and charges. I also shot some Fiochi 115gr FMJ and Federal American Eagle 147gr AE9FP as a baseline.

The gun is a police trade-in Gen 3 Glock 22 with a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel (.355") and Glock 17 magazines. The suppressor is a Huntertown Arms Guardian.

I'm going to rate the sound on a scale of 1-10, with an un-suppressed MKII shooting high velocity ammo being 10 on that scale. This is a subjective scale, my ear is not your ear, and certainly not a professional instrument. Quieter is quieter though.

So here's the chrono and "ear" results:

    Fiochi 115gr FMJ
1126,1147,1141,1149,1109 fps and LOUD through the suppressor. Sonic crack and muzzle blast - rated this one a 10+.

    Federal AE9FP
909,917,897,927,921 fps and thumpy through the suppressor. Rated a 8.

    3gr of Win231
790,794,793,782,788 fps and softer through the can. Rated a 7.

    2.5gr of 700-X
779,790,787,785,782 fps and the quietest though the can. Rated a 6. Almost as quiet to the ear as a suppressed MKII!

    4.6gr HS6
859,859,847,836,863 fps and about the same as the Federal ammo to the ear. Say maybe a 8+.

Now here is a real "heater"! 6gr of AA7!
974,940,960,970,971 fps and about a 9+. The loudest load other than the 115gr Fiochi. Shot some without the can and got some smoke from these - no flash - AA7 is flash suppressed.

    4gr of Longshot
874,890,895,863,886 fps and about a 8.5-9. A little quieter than the AA7, but not much. Shot some without the can and had a nice fireball at dusk! Cases are always dirty when I shoot Longshot. Not my favorite powder, but I have a can of it to use up.

Bench rested 25yd accuracy with all loads sucked. Need to sort the shooter, gun, etc to figure out what's going on. It was on an 11x8.5" piece of paper, but that's all I can say. No leading to speak of. Need to clean the can to see how much lead is in there, but don't see anything worth mentioning without digging too deep. Didn't shoot very many total boolits - maybe 30?
