    Copper plated my first boolits!

I needed somewhere to show off my new boolits, This gave me about .0005", thats good because i needed a little bigger boolit, cant wait to see how much i can cut down on leading, tonight was my first try at plating, lots to learn.

Does the copper stay the boolit past exit?

Tell us the process you used. I know how plating works but would like to know the specifics of how you did it yourself.

I would too. I know home plating prolly isn't worth the effort, but that wouldn't stop me from having fun trying...

Well of course the question is, is there enough plating to protect against leading the barrel?
Guns should only be allowed in places where people don't want to be shot.

In part two, gunlovingsob shows some recovered bullets and states there is no leading in thee barrel. Some copper is left on the bullets, but the front of the bullets are mangled from the target, but some copper is still visible. I suspect if more copper on the bullets is needed, just leave them in the solution longer.

Thanks gunlovingsob, I can see home plating is pretty labor intensive, but it's just like any other reloading/casting/swaging hobby; it's done 'cause we like to. I think I'll start gathering equipment to give it a try...

MDI, I put together some materials for copper plating last year. It was a fun experiment and the shiny boolits were kinda cool looking. I was using thin wire to hang boolits into the bath.

I split my time between CO and Crescent City, CA. If you would like to use anything I've got, you are more than welcome to it. I'll be out west again later next week. I don't know where in So Orygun, but I make frequent trips to Medford. Send me a PM if interested.
