    Hey, good idea !
I understand what you were saying, I'll have to model something and see how it looks.
Seems like it would peel back nicely

Agreed. However machining the mold plug might be a chore. Might be better to modify a screw driver bit to fit the mold.

has anyone shot these wild boolits , I loaded some of the .316 diam. Phillips in my762x39 sks they will have to be hand fed as they are quite long weigh @178 gr with a check and sized to .314, im curious how they will fly .. as straight or what...? Im using my load for the 175 gr saeco clone which is 17 gr of wc820 (similar to aa#9) I think they will fly straight ...

Why don't you fire it and let us know how it works?

    Hey BadBob,

Give it a shot (some pun intended), the sks has a 1-10 twist so it should be fine but length is an issue for sure.
I haven't had a chance to do much of anything but try it out in the cellar so a real range session would be great !

don't be discouraged if they aren't 1/2" groups, those bullets are hard and a softer alloy may be better.

How much Duxseal are you using to trap your bullets?

    oldpara,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and talent. You are gifted and I wish the best for your in your next employment chapter. I suspect that if they do sent you offshore that we will all get the D.T's until you can post again. Like the others have already posted, I'd love to have a sampling of your creations, but understand what it is like to have resource constraints to deal with. Just going to have to shoot them using my imagination.

But there's my total knowledge on that subject........
Still, I would like to experiment with the stuff, maybe a zinc bullet with a lead, steel, brass, or carbide core to give it a little extra mass. Anyone know where to get depleted uranium ?
Reading through this thread tonight. Amazing work. Saw that you are looking to increase the weight(BC). Tungsten is 2X the weight of lead, also harder than steel. However, it's also $60-80 per lb. I use #9 shot for turkey loads, a 2oz load is a $10 shell, but cheap compared to the rest of the cost of the sport.

Hope that you landed somewhere great after the job ended. Been there 2X, now self employed, in the lawn care business, but have 2 mills (one being converted to CNC, Enco 3HP 9X42), 14X40 lathe, 6X18 surface grinder, etc in my garage. Question, are you using a 3 or 4 axis cnc mill? Just wondering if it's a Bridgeport type, or one of the newer milling centers?

    I just found this thread.

Oldpara - I don't have a clue what's going on in your life but I hope all is well. Even if this thread has to fade away I still think you for the amazing read this has been. This is hands down one of the most fun threads on this entire forum. Bravo Zulu.

Oldpara, I was introduced to this thread by MaximumBob54 on another forum.

You have serious talent and I agree with all the members who say that you could make a living selling these bullets as novelties or key chains.

Thanks for an amazing thread, and for sharing your abilities.
