    Boots Reynolds

I just recieved word that my friend Roy "Boots" Reynolds passed away yesterday. I've known Boots since I got out of the service in 1980 and we both agreed to judge bucking machine contests in a local bar that were the craze back then. We didn't get paid but the drinks were on the house and just being able to watch him doodle on a bar napkin was a special treat! Some of those bar napkins were priceless works of art. Although I didn't get a chance to stop in and say howdy often enough he always had a smile and a warm welcome when I did.

Boots was a well known Cowboy Artist, some of you will recognize his artwork from the Leaning Tree greeting cards that are available in most Western Wear/Farm stores. I have always been amazed at his humor and his ability to show expression on just about any critter he wanted to draw. Here is a link to a YouTube video done by a local TV station on Boots a few years back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcM6dKCYPdw

Rest in Peace my friend, your memory lives on in your artwork.

I had no idea he had passed away, that is a loss for those that appreciated his art! I am also sorry to hear that you lost your friend, he was a good man and knew how to entertain.
I always enjoyed his art in the Western Horseman as well as having a couple of his framed prints on the wall, with my favorite being "Don't shoot lady, he's your elk, just let me get my saddle offa' him!".
I am sorry to hear that he has passed.

Why does a man with a 7mag never panic buy? Because a man with a 7mag has no need to panic!

That look on your face, when you shift into 6th gear, but it's not there.
