    Jes rebore

Has anyone had Jes Reboreing do a rifle? Are you happy, and how do they shoot? For cast boolits should I go with 3, 4 or 5 groove cut rifling? Thanks Joe

He did a 30-30 rebore to .356 Win for me a few years ago.
    3 groove, 13" twist.
    Es muy bueno.

I have a Weatherby Vanguard '06 that was punched out to 35 Whelen by the gent that sold it to me. I haven't shot it a ton but I like what I'm seeing so far.

I've been shooting my 358 Win. Weatherby that JES rebored for me with 3 groove rifling.

    It is a " nail driver" ! ! It particularly likes bullets 250 grs. - 290 grs.

Here is my NEI 262 HP gas check. The bullet drops at about .361" .

Walt made this one years ago. A real pleasure to cast with. Erik HP'd it for me. It is a killer. It is one of the molds that I own that I just would not sell.

I cast about 300 of them today.
    Nothing like being ready.

The group fired below is 5 rounds at 50 yards.

I've had 2 rifle barrels done by JES. I am extremely happy with both jobs. The first one was a 336 30-30 barrel opened up to 35 caliber and throated by Jesse for a conversion to 35/30-30 with 1-15 twist. Excellent shooter. The second was an 8mm Mauser military barrel opened to 35 caliber with the same twist for a modified 35/*mm Mauser wildcat...very similar to a 9x57...but with a long neck like the 35 Whelen. It is accurate and shows very nice craftsmanship. I'd use him again in a heartbeat. I had both barrels rifles with 3 grooves per Jesse's recommendation for cast boolit shooting.
