Has anyone worked up a load for the 358 using the Saeco 245 gr bullet and RL 15? I did a search but only found someone using RL 19. My plan is to work up a load for elk.
Thanks
Joe

Joe,
Maybe use 250gr jacketed data if there is any.
..
Well, my 358 Win has such a long throat that I use brass 54mm long and seat that Saeco out to 2.75-2.775 inches. Preliminary data with a bullet wt of 241 grains at the longer col 36 grains of RL 15 gave me 1805 fps with 10 shots 2.25 inches at 140 yds. Same wt boolit at the shorter col with 37 grains RL 15 doubled the size of the group at 140 yds at 1892 fps. You can see I really have to seat them out. I started much lower (32 grains) with lighter boolits and used WLP primers. Clean burn with both these loads, I'm looking forward to working with RL 15.
Your throat is surely shorter, your shells are shorter and your col will be shorter as well so reduce your start load 15-20%! Please share your results.
Just because change doesn't make a difference doesn't mean that change is bad.
Thanks for information oso..........joe
