Lee 6 molds

I need to get molds in 9. 40. & 45. Which seems to be the best all around when used with LTL?
I have FWFL.
The Lee page suggests that the 38 105gr. SWC works well in 9mm. I have a Lee 6 in 9-125-2R one lube groove. Comments..........

I'm familiar with Lee 6 Gang Tumble Lube molds for .38 148 gr WC, .40 S S&W 175 gr SWC and .45 200 gr SWC. The boolits for the .38 and .45 ACP have good accuracy. The 175 gr SWC in .40 isn't so great in a Glock with after market barrel. No experience with the 9mm as much to my chagrin, my pistol doesn't shoot lead worth a darn.

I've had good luck with the 45 230gr TC single lube groove design with the LLA sized to .452

i haven't shot tons of them though. . . i'd guess under 500.

i have some unsized TL 105s if you want to try a few.

I have the TL452-230-TC. It's a good bullet. That's the better one to go with if you want to tumble lube.

I have the Lee 105g SWC and it does work well in 9mm and makes a great plinker in 38 & 357 also.

Right now I'm shooting the 452-230 tumble lube and the 170 .402 tumble lube. Both work great for me, but these days starting to regret how much lead the 230 grain goes through. On the other hand I have a 5 gallon bucket full of them already cast, so will probably just use them up. I can shoot them all day with not a bit of leading and very accurate, nice bullet. The .402 shoots well, but the 40 is a little tricker to load lead for, at least for me, but finally have a decent load sorted out.

I also shoot the .358-158-RF, very, very accurate bullet in my 6" scoped .357. I just tumble lube them and shoot them at about 1350 fps with no leading at all.

Just bought the .358-105 for my 9mm and cast up 1000 or so last weekend but haven't had a chance to shoot them yet.

Remember you can use the tumble lube on any bullet, it doesn't have to be the special design, but the 6 banger molds are the way to go.

TL452-230-2R works for me. This is the Lee .45 cal, 230grn, Tumble Lube, Round Nose.

It works without fuss in any .45 Auto I've ever tried it in, and I've tried it in a lot of them. I also use the same bullet over 6grns of Red Dot for an A+ .45 Colt load.

I don't size them... I just tumble lube with LLA and go. It's so easy that I feel a bit like it's cheating somehow... but the results are excellent.

As Bob Jones said, you can try Mule Snot (LLA) on any design. At peestol velocity your chances of success are good. And if it doesn't work, put the mould on Ebay and sell it for $13.57 more than retail. It's a win-win as far as I can see.

I use the 105 gr Lee in all my guns, 38,357,& 9mm. Use the LLA lube and have great success. A very accurate bullet.

Another suggestion for th 45 ACP - depends on the gun of course but if you like extra heavy boolits the

might be worth considering. It is very accurate and works perfectly , I have a two cavity mold and before I started lubrisizing boolits I shot loads of these with LLA using two different Colts. No problems at all, warm loads ask for a strong recoil spring though.

Of course this not an "official" 45 ACP boolit, this is for 45 LC. But it works and feeds on the 45 ACP. Some bowling pin shooters use this boolit for the knockout power. This boolit ( based on my memos) has almost zero velocity variation on my pistols, one of my most accurate handgun loads ever.


It might be a good idea to try a few boolits and see if they feed in your 45 before buying a sixbanger though.

I loaded up a bunch of little 77 gr. Lyman 311252 round nose plainbase in front of 2.8 gr. Bullseye in .32-20 pistol and they were real nice at 15 yds. (I know...not hardly a test.) I am going to load up a bunch more and hoping my new reddot sight works well will give them a test at 25 yds. I crimped them in the top groove. Lubed them with LLA and they shot real decent. I might get one of those Lee .32 round nose to try if these work out. Just wondering if anyone has already gone that route & it turned out to be a not-so-great deal?
