Question HELP me do the right thing

Last weekend I made a purchase on a lot of reloading equipment. Well in the items that I left behind until the return trip, there were a few things that I did not recongnize. After much research, I discvered that they are Harrels powder measures. They are new condition and I think they have 6 of them. What should I pay for them?? Is there a market for these? How long will it take to turn my money? One of my suppliers has these and they sell for over $200. How much should I expect to get for them?

Well, if they sell NIB for $200 that makes the math easy at least......

    $200 NIB = $100 used retail
    $100 used retail = $50 to turn a profit

now keep in mind that this is how pawn shops work, and generally NOBODY leaves the pawn shop without feeling "violated", so you can easily bump the offer up a bit and still be good.....

If I were in your shoes, I'd feel good offering @70 per and selling them @120-130 (and they'd sell quick too....)

220swiftfn's logic is sound. The math could use a little work; but only because the values of the powder measures should be adjusted.
Over at Sinclair International's website, the Harrel powder measures range in price from $220 to $366 depending on model.

Who would be the target market market for this type of powder measure? I have hard time picturing people freely paying that kind of money.

I've seen those measures sell for good money on Ebay. If you can stomach E-bay's rules, fees, etc. you should find a a number of buyers interested for the prices you are talking about.

    Hi,
    Can we say" Benchrest"
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace.
We ask not your counsels or arms.
Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you.
May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” -Samuel Adams

At the Sinclair they are selling for $276. At that price, I couldnt see buying one. At the 100 to 125 dollar range I think that would be an outstanding value. Does anyone know if these could be mounted in a press ?
If enough pressure is applied, it'll go

I am sure an adapter of some sort could be developed to allow it to be mounted in a press. Anything is possible.

Using a Harrels on a press would largely defeat the advantages of the measure.
