    winchester project

Thought someone might like to see my 25-35 is just finished. It was a basket case with chopped half octagon barrel and butt stock and no rifling left. I took a bit more off the barrel to make it 20", restocked with Treebone standard wood and buttplate, and relined the barrel. Rust blued the whole rig. Anxious to give it a go at the range. Got a bunch of 257325 ready to go.

    Really nice little rifle there!

    Nice work! I've always wanted a 25-35.

Nicely done! Lots of history in that old rifle, hope it's around for several more generations to enjoy. Thanks for sharing!

Have made a couple of trips to the range with the 25-35. Only been shot at 50 yards. 22g. of 3031 and Rem. 117g jacketed gave me a 5 shot group just under an inch at that range. I thought that was pretty good with iron sights. I also shot some Lyman 112g. 257325 sized .2575 (WW sweetened with 50/50 solder) over 14g. 4198 and they grouped about 1 1/4". Old gun shows some promise I think. Pleasant little thing to shoot.
