I'm not going to get into loading data but here are some of the heavy bullet molds available (relatively):
    SAECO 430 About 270 gr
Lyman 429640 Supposedly about 275 gr, mine are closer to 290
RCBS 300 Haven't cast any of these yet, I expect them about 310
    Lyman 429650 I think they're supposed to be 300, mine run 325
Lyman 429649 Supposed to be 325, mine just under 350

Seaco 265gr RFN GC. Shot real good out of a 444 Marlin I had. It was a real thumper with a max charge of 4198. I don't do that kind of stuff anymore, too old to take the pain now. My loads go " pop" now instead of " BOOM "

    Question

    Pb Head-

Can you give me an idea of what diameter and weight the Saeco 265 grn RFNGC drops from the mold when cast of wheelweight?

    Thanks,
    -Matt

What Boolits For The 445 Ssm And The 444

jeff223 - I've also got a pair of these things in the Contender myself. I've shot the 445 and the 444 with both the LEE C430240 SWC, 430208WC, and the C240300. A light plinking load of Unique with the 208 WC works extremely well in the 445. The 444 liked the 240 SWC a little better than it did the 208. Both will shoot the 300 GCFN extremely well. I try to keep the levels of both guns down to a sane limit. There isn't any reason to stretch a frame.

To the best of my memory it was from 270-273 gr and .230-.231 dia. from the mold I had. It's been my experience that even the same # mold produced at separate periods of time can vary, sometimes by a good bit. Mine was an older one. I replaced it with one from Mountain Molds with a little longer throat, 2 lube grooves, and plain base. One of the best molds I have, accurate and casts like a dream. For a few bucks more then a standard Seaco you can get a custom one from Dan that you can design yourself on his website.

I use a lot of the 429640HPs modified to a 1/8" pin in the .444. The 44-300-SWC RCBS is another good heavy hitter in it.

For light plinking, the 429215 works really nice over 18.0 grains of Blue Dot./beagle

Thanks for the info. Looks like it might drop a bit too small for my .444 Winchester Black Shadow. Better go with Dan instead.

    .444 Marlin

    HI,
I had a .444 marlin in a lever action. It really liked the lyman 250 gr.gc. and w.w. alloy. I believe it got at least 4 one shot deer kills before it became my son's rifle. With squib loads of 700x it would make a one hole group. W/ IMR 4198 full house loads it got good groups too but they weren't 10 rounds in the 1 hole type.

    I like the following...

Those are 310gr .430"s from a Lee DC mold with Bullshop Speed Green lube. I have run them past 1850 fps (using AA2015) from my 14" On Target Technologies 444 Marlin rechambered contender barrel. I have also run them around 1250 fps (using blue dot) in that same 444 barrel, both loads are VERY accurate!

Here's one well tought piece for .444 and it's always possible to make your personal or gun specific projectile (.444 fans needs to read that Fryxell article):
