    zinc WW

    smelted 2 buckets today & found 3 WW that didnt melt ZINC
    when thesmoke lessens & the last ones are melting i could hear something
    bigger than a clip hit the spoon, yep 1.5oz ZINC WW all three
    of um.!!
    so remember fellers keep the smelter heat moderate & be careful!!!!

    I did my first smelting ever yesterday and I found about 6-7 over a whole 5 gallon bucket of wheel weights. I had all the clips skimmed off and I kept pushing it under the surface figuring it would melt and it just sat there looking as good as new. I looked over the weights that didn't melt and there didn't appear to be any markings on them to indicate that they were zinc. (FWIW)

    GP100man, Yes I have found a few too. They seem to rivit them on to the clip.

    All the riveted clip weights I have seen so far are magnetic, but there's a lot of variation out there. Weight manufacturers seem to be unaware of us and the feds hate us so keep the smelting temp down to 600-650!
