I guess this would qualify as being cast today since I was working past midnight.

New MP 359-125 brass 2 cavity HP. Going to size and load them for 9mm.

A couple hundred TLC432-265-RF. Don't have a pic of all of them, but here are a couple:

Those are absolutely awesome boolits. I use the exact same boolit for my 9mm carbine, the solid version..

You want to use the smallest amount possible. 100% cotton q-tips do NOT melt.

I shake the bottle of Bullshop Sprueplate lube, remove the lid and only use the amount that sticks to the inside of the lid on a q-tip. After the mould is up to heat, with the mould full of bullets and the sprue JUST cut, then apply to the top of the mould (including the sprue holes). IMMEDIATELY, use the clean a-tip to wipe everything off. Do the same to the underside of the sprue plate and top of the sprueplate. Immediately wipe off all oil. This will leave only a film on the surfaces.

I also oil the alighnment pins and sockets. That will prevent wear on those critical surfaces.

    Remember - LESS IS MORE!

    10-4 Dale, thanks.
Subsequent uses of the Qtip without re-wetting seemed to work fine.
I probably did too much the first time, didn't wipe it off.

PS: Nice lookin' boolits you guys! (All the above pics)

    1,600 200 grain H&G 68's and 800 185 grain #68's for a total of 4,300 185's and 3,600 200 grainers. Now will run the 200 grain moulds for about 6,000 200 grainers.

H&G eight cavity moulds make a bunch of boolits, but they are starting to get heavy for an ole fart! Cast one day, rest one day, cast one day, rest one day, etc.
How's that hope and change working for you?

I cast a few 45acp last night using my old faithful Lee 2-Cavity TL452-230-2R.
They are cast from wheel weight lead, with some Linotype mixed in as well in to make them fill out nice, and just a little pink colored.

I tumble lubed a batch with 45-45-10 (Alox+JPW+mineral spirits) ran em through my Lee .452 sizer, lubed them again, and loaded them up with my favorite Unique load.

    Shiny!

    Some 4-tays

I casted some 40s Saturday and yesterday using a Lee 40 cal 175 grain tumble lube SWC 6 banger.

Here is my first pile of boolits next to a high ratio of my pile of rejects from Saturday night. It took me awhile to get the mold heated up, the Lee bottom pour pot was having problems clogging up, and nothing seemed to be going right, but I did get a few keepers:

Here is my Pile of AWESOMENESS! next to a much lower ratio of rejects from Sunday. Things worked better after cleaning out the pot, using a hot plate to keep the mold hot, and keeping the mold well lubed:

Here are Saturday's boolits lubed with Alox, drying, and waiting to be sized:

It was a good weekend, I think I will end up with around 1200 to 1500 boolits from those two batches.

I broke out the casting gear today. I've been shooting lots of 230gr bullets in my 1911's lately, instead of 200gr SWC, which is normally my bullet of choice.

I cast about 300 boolits from my RCBS 45-230-RN. It has always been an excellent mold to cast with. The bullets drop with a light tap to the handles, the cavities fill out nicely, and I like the bullet!

My alloy was wheel weights, and the bullets were air cooled. Tomorrow I've breaking out the NOE H&G 130 clone (185gr SWC). I'll post an update of how it goes. As much as I love this mold, I can't wait for the NOE H&G 34 group buy mold to be done! 5 cavities instead of the 2 on the RCBS will greatly improve my casting efficiency (I like to cast, but I like to shoot even more).

    The boolits:

I cast 100 Lee 50 cal REAL bullets, and about 200 Lee C-501-440-RF's for paper patching my Muzzleloader. Ron
