You could use 270 WSM if you expand the case then trim to length - either by fire forming or with a suitable die - but much easier to purchase the correct brass to start with.

Nope. It wont work. I had a guy give me a 100 bag of .270 WSM. If I recall correctly, the base is about .010 difference.
I thought I'd load up some more rounds when I was devoloping the suppressor. The .270 didnt work at all.
Best to stick with the 7 WSM.

seems like it should work Hotguns but the shoulder position does differ on 7mm from 300 or 270, probably for safety so you can't get a 7mm WSM in a 270 WSM chamber I would imagine.

Yeah that's what I thought too.
If you look at the case diameter right before the shoulder, you'll see that the 7mm is .445.
The .270 is .538, so its a bit fatter. Now that I think about , that was the issue.
You might make it work with a gargantuan press, but it'd take a lot of effort.
Oh, not the base but up by the shoulder... You still could reform it to work.
Gargantuan press no, but a good one solidly mounted would be required.
Nah, my Coax with imperial wax would be able to handle it I'm sure.
But, as we both stated much easier to use th right case to begin with.
Has Aaron mentioned the .50 HP AR upper yet? There is one thats about to be integrallly suppressed.

Yep.
You'll be able to remove the monolithic baffle stack right out for cleaning.
You could use .270 but you would have to fire form them 1 time before cutting them off.
As long as it is the right bolt face.

my #3 son is in "the 'stan" again. He shot an insurgent twice with his 9mm. Killed him dead with the first one, but, like me, he is insecure; so he shot him again. He said the body was still there the next day, and still dead.
I'm sort-of biased on Army Ranger experience versus yours.

now that is evil, Ar's by themselves are like that - first you buy one then a spare upper then a lower so then you have two whole guns then buy another upper etc.
First you buy one host and suppressor and you like it so much you thread another host then you buy a second suppressor - then you thread another host etc.

Moonie, I see that's a problem you, just took my wife out shooting today, we discussed the next modification to get her a rifle that fits her better instead of me. - the same wife that looked a my pile of FAL parts and said you only need about 7 more and you'll have another, so I now do. Got to pick the right partner.
Should have next rifle ready for her to try by our 20th anniversery.
I got a lovely wife like that, we're coming up on 21 in June. She has sent me off to Africa twice now. Gullible though, I convinced her I needed a couple Double Rifles to do it right. She did draw a line in the sand when she came home from work Tuesday and the Cape Buffalo head & shoulder mount was up in the living room.
She said she wouldn't mind having an AR if I could get a stock that would fit her. CAR-15 stock, Ta-Da!! She has assumed ownership of the shorty 9mm.

My wife has stolen numerous guns from me when I bring them home. Dont worry Geraldo, She isnt getting that Wilson 1911! She now has a AR in .300 BLK too that I have mad rediculously light weight. She loves it.
