    Reclaming Lead (bullet trap)

    Hey Guys,

Just wondering what you guys used to reclaim your lead bullets if anything?

I've got a couple of pieces of armor plating that I could shot into but I would assume that the bullets would splatter but don't know for sure?

So, does anyone use a bullet trap or shoot into something that will allow you to reclaim the lead?

    Thanks,

    Paul

If you angle the plate downward (top of the plate closer to you), they tend to not splatter as much but tend to dent or pancacke and mostly keep whole. Also having a media to focus the lead into (like sand) would likely help to keep the lead contained.. If you had metal sides perpendicular to the plate you are shooting at, that would further contain the lead. It also depends on what you are shooting at the armore plate (pistol bullets as opposed to jacketed rifle bullets). This is what I would do if I had the means for my "own range".

Bullets and boolits will splatter on steel trap, but you will reclaim most of it.
This is what I got out of trap.

    And finished ingots. 9 lbs/ingot
