    Tested the HP 225462

    Team.

I had a limited opportunity on a farm visit recently to try my ACWW 225462 HP bullets from the Erik conversion on my mould. They are departing at 2150fps from my .223 Rem and are absolutely SAVAGE on rabbits. The terminal effect is similar to a full power jacketed load. Really impressive.

Thanks for the report Jeff. What does that HP weigh? What twist does your .223 have?

Given the quantites of rabbits that you guy have to shoot, keeping projectile costs down
is important. Good to hear that the HPs are effective. Was it difficult to get them up to
that speed and keep your accy?

If it was easy, anybody could do it.

Bill, I was getting up to 2500fps with great accuracy but it was very inconsistent and I don't know why. I only wanted the speed for the trajectory advantage. Have not given up but only want to use air cooled WW so that is the limited factor.

A hard alloy will fragment on impact if you are close enough. Couple of ways to skin that cat.
