    what about this?

my source of W/W sent me three ingots for inspection and I put some acid on them it bubbled made some nasty fumes and turned a really dark gray color guess I need to pass on this stuff from what I've read.

And that is the reason why many will not purchase WW ingots; they prefer the extra security of processing the raw weights themselves.

Sure, it's extra work with the raw weights, but several have been "stung" with a questionable batch. It's all too easy to dump everything in the pot and simply crank up the heat in hopes of a quick melt.

If I were to purchase WW in ingot form, it would only be from a known/trusted source.

Other than that, if you already have a contaminated batch, the sticky on removing zinc is an interesting read.

update on ingots! I cleaned my pot out and casted a few fishing weights from them mystery ingots! sure made a mess! had the temp on full blast and it just poured out like clumps of mud! I made 6 2oz weights and I'm glad the guy was up front about it! guess I'll just have to pass on the rest and use what I got to go fishing the next nice day !
