Hello to all,
Just an update in regard to the waiting list and pricing:
In regard to the list, I have noted 42 people so far to date.
In regard to wheel weight lead pricing: Just today, lead prices for wheel weights went up 5 cents per pound!! And a couple of months ago, the price increased by 5 cents as well !!!! So the trend right now, in my area, has been an upward swing.
I make it a practice to call for current pricing at the yard I primarily deal with - and my customers are educated (I've taught them to be), so they can easily pick up the phone and inquire in regard to price. So, I offer the convenience of scrapyard pricing but without the hassle of lugging hundreds of pounds to it.
With this said, I plan (for now) to hold to the pricing as indicated in post #1. The bulk of the lead I bought in the past few months was at the then 5 cents a pound increase, and I did not factor the increase into my pricing. My aim has been to offer my lead at an attractive, if not helpful, price to the forum members.
When the lead on hand gets exhausted, then that will be the time to increase my pricing. I really can't absorb fully a $5.00 increase per 50LBS. And I pay the going rate for WW even though the buckets contain "junk" like steel, lug nuts, screws, broken wrenches, allen wrenches, sockets, etc - so I am not getting 100% usuable lead wheel weights (in addition to the clips that don't melt). And I do have expenses associated with the process, some of which are: travel expenses, propane, and RENT$$$.
Presently, my WW clipon lead pricing is .85 cents per pound. So 50LB box is $42.50, shipping is $10.50, for a total $53.00. I am estimating (once my current "raw" supply is gone), the price for clipon ingots to increase to .93 cents a pound (a $4.00 increase). Thus this comes out to be $46.50 per 50LB box +10.50 shipping, for a total of $57.00. I've seen lead elsewhere going for this amount, if not higher... and sometimes lower, but I do offer very clean lead ... as my feedback so indicates. And I do my best to offer competitive and fair pricing (never, ever, taking advantage of people who can not obtain lead in their localities). In regard to stickon lead ingots, I plan to increase these by $1.00 (since about 1/4 or so of WW's picked up are comprised of stickies) to arrive at $58.00 per 50LB box, delivered to one's door. These proposed prices are tentative; I will have to "go over the numbers" and if I can adjust lower, I will do so. But for now, pricing will remain at what is indicated in post #1 of this thread until further notice.
So, that's the scoop in regard to the planned price increases, once my current raw supply of WW lead runs out. Range lead, for now, will hold at the same pricing $50.00 per 50LB box, delivered to one's door.
I know I went into a lot of detail here, but (as you can see by my posts), I am just being me - and I wish I could continue to offer future lead ingots at today's current pricing.... but I do have a business to run and I have to be fair to myself also!
Hopefully, most will understand my situation and reasoning.
With kind regards to all,
~ Kathie

So you have any ingots of WW yet or still need to smelt them?
In a few words: No, I don't have any WW ingots in stock right now.
Further information:
I have about 2400 "raw" WW's presently waiting to be smelted from the "old" batch. I have to wait for warm weather to arrive (and stay around!!). I hope the smelting process will begin in April.
Most likely I will be getting more WW's soon, and these will become the "new batch", along with the planned price increase for clipon and stickon ingots.
I do keep track of my raw supply, so I will advise when the ingots cast from the "old" batch are exhausted. I have stated previously that I have the right to limit quantities, which I may do so due to the size of the waiting list. Also, more people will benefit from the now current pricing as indicated in post #1 of this thread. If there are ingots "left over", I will simply go around the list again.
That's the scoop for now!

Thanks
I was not sure how the weather is up there as the last 2 weeks here we had on T shirts but have been back to sweet shirts last 2 days.
I hate the local news so hardly look at it lol
Recently bought a LFRB of .223 brass from Kathie. Would gladly do business again. Brass looked great, was shipped quickly, and the price was great.

I am not really worried about your price increases the product speaks for itself so if you need to raise the price of the lead you sell me do so. I am more interested in a quality product then price.
Only issue is it might take me longer to get the funds but I know you understand this and yes I will keep buying your product just have to find more money. Kind of like everything right now is on the upswing except my income. Just got some diesel and paid almost $4.00 a gallon and I have a 35 gallon tank to feed you do the math.
Oh well life goes on sort of at least

Like to get 50 lbs of clip on WW when you can do it Rick Shooter6br@ aol.com
put me down for 3 boxes WW
For Shooter6br, 340six, and others...
I have added those interested in lead ingots to my ever-growing list.
I have 400 some odd pounds of WW lead to sort through, in addition to the 100 cans waiting for smelting.
I just have to wait for warmer weather; I am shooting (pardon the pun) for April since I will be purchasing range lead in the beginning of the month; and I have to sift the range lead I now have in storage. And I have been invited back to the range that I made note of in my .223 brass thread... to do semi-annual cleanouts! I plan to smelt the future lead that I will reclaim from this range since it will be more managable and without all the dust that got generated in the 7500+LB cleanout done in Feb (beaucoup dust, due to having to use an electric chisel to break up piles of lead, sometimes the piles were 8-10" deep).

I hope to start next week on the sifting of the range lead that I have in storage. And, also the 400+lbs of WW's. I never know when I am going to get a call to pickup WW's, so I will be getting more WW's - hopefully soon!
My "rough" list is comprised of 50 people, at the time of this writing. So, as I usually mention in my PM's: it is never a problem for me if people no longer need my lead by the time I reach their names. This is purrrrr-fectly understandable... I always have an outlet for my ingots. And, as I have mentioned previously, I do reserve the right to limit quantities.
Well, that's the scoop for now!
With kind regards to all,
~ Kathie

Don't worry about price ....everything is going up for everyone and i'm sure no one expects you to absorb price hike. So please charge me whatever it going rate is even though got on list before price went up. Don't worry price hike won't bother me cause know your product is well worth price you ask and will be ordering more after you fill orders already on list. Not your fault inflation has started and fuel prices going out roof. I for one want you to stay in business and i think so many more too. Just hopeing for your weather to warm up. Please take care and be well Katie.
